The International Conference "The Life and Contribution of Pythagoras to Mathematics, Sciences and Philosophy'' is dedicated to one of the most influential figures in the history of mathematics, foundational concepts in science and profound philosophical insights, all of which continue to resonate in contemporary thought.
He studied in Greece, Egypt and Mesopotamia and he settled in Croton (in modern-day Italy), where he founded his famous school «Ομακοείον» (''Omakoeion'').His contributions extend beyond mathematics (arithmetic, geometry, stereometry, music and the harmonic motion of spheres/ planets) into the realms of science and metaphysics, shaping the way we understand numbers and their relationships. Focusing on the life, the work and the influence on humanity of the ancient polymath Pythagoras of Samos this conference attempts to bring together mathematicians, scholars, philosophers, and enthusiasts of Pythagoras' remarkable contributions to both science and humanity in general.
